Hon. Lateef Akorede Honored at National Workshop on Grassroots Development, Hails Makinde

 

A National Workshop on Accelerated Grassroots Development for Local Government Administrators recently took place in Abuja, providing a significant platform for local government leaders across Nigeria to engage in knowledge sharing, collaboration, and strategic planning.

Among the attendees was Hon. Lateef Akorede, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government, Ayete, who expressed his commitment to impactful governance and grassroots development.

The two-day workshop allowed participants to discuss innovative strategies and best practices aimed at enhancing community welfare.

The highlight of the event was the Nigerian Local Government Excellence Award (LOGEXA) ceremony, where Akorede was honoured with the award for 2024.

This recognition acknowledges his outstanding performance and dedication over the past few years as Executive Chairman.

“I am deeply humbled to receive this award, which reflects the collective efforts of my team and my commitment to driving meaningful change in our community,” Akorede stated.

He emphasised that this accolade would serve as motivation to further strive for excellence in public service and to continue pushing the boundaries of grassroots development.

Hon. Akorede expressed his gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde for the opportunity given to serve at the grassroot and the workshop organizers and the LOGEXA award committee for their recognition.

The council boss said he remains committed to fostering an environment that values innovation and collaboration among local government administrators, ensuring that the needs of his community are met effectively.

This event marks a critical step towards enhancing governance at the grassroots level in Nigeria, highlighting the importance of local leadership in fostering sustainable development.
