Hon. Olufemi Afolabi Sworn in as Secretary of Ibadan Northeast Local Government

 

Hon. Olufemi Afolabi was officially sworn in as the Secretary of the Ibadan Northeast Local Government.

The ceremony took place at the local government secretariat, drawing a large gathering of community members, local leaders, and government officials.

The swearing-in ceremony was presided over by Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan Northeast Local Government.

In his opening remarks, Hon. Akintayo highlighted the importance of the role of the secretary in promoting effective governance and enhancing community engagement.

He urged Hon. Afolabi to prioritize the needs of the residents and work collaboratively with other council members to address pressing issues.

During his acceptance speech, Hon. Afolabi emphasized his commitment to serving the people of Ibadan Northeast with integrity and dedication.

He articulated his vision for the local government, focusing on transparency, accountability, and community development.

“I am deeply honoured to accept this role, and I pledge to work tirelessly for the betterment of our community,” he stated.

Hon. Afolabi also acknowledged the challenges facing the local government, including infrastructure deficits, youth unemployment, and inadequate healthcare services.

He expressed his determination to tackle these issues head-on, promising to implement initiatives that would foster economic growth and improve the quality of life for residents.

The SLG called for active participation from residents, urging them to voice their concerns and contribute ideas for local development.

“Together, we can create a vibrant and inclusive community where everyone has a stake in our future,” he said.
