Hon Sanda Congratulates Olubadan on Emergence as Chairman Oyo Council of Obas, Chiefs

The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, has congratulated His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, on his appointment as the Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, describing the development as a well-deserved honour and a significant milestone for traditional governance in the state.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, Hon. Sanda noted that the choice of the Olubadan of Ibadanland as the council’s chairman reflects his wealth of experience, wisdom, and long-standing commitment to peace, unity, and progress across Oyo State.

According to the Egbeda LG boss, Oba Ladoja’s leadership is expected to further strengthen the relevance of traditional institutions and enhance their collaboration with government at all levels for the overall development of the state.

Hon. Sanda also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his proactive and visionary leadership, particularly in reviving and repositioning the Oyo State Council of Obas after years of inactivity.

He described the governor’s action as a strategic move that underscores his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and respect for cultural heritage.

“The proactive steps taken by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, in ensuring that Oyo State remains ahead in governance and institutional reforms are commendable.

The revival of the Council of Obas and the appointment of a respected monarch like Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as chairman clearly demonstrate purposeful leadership,” Oyedele stated.

He added that the decision would foster harmony among traditional rulers and promote stability, peace, and accelerated development across the state.

Hon. Oyedele assured the state government and the newly inaugurated council of the continued support of the Egbeda Local Government towards initiatives that promote unity, good governance, and sustainable development in Oyo State.
