Hon Toyin Balogun Celebrates Appointments of More Women at State, Local Governments, Hails Gov Makinde

The Oyo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Hon (Mrs) Toyin Balogun has celebrated women that that have being appointed by Governor Seyi Makinde to serve in his administration as well as those appointed at local governments across the state.

Mrs Balogun appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde for keeping faith with the female demographic of the state by continuing to fulfill the promises made to the citizenry in the Roadmap to Sustainable.

“Hearty congratulations to Honorables Funmi Bakare(GSM WC Akinyele), Lizzie Adeboyin,Fatou Atobatele-Oyegbori Oluwa(GSM WC Lagelu), Bisola Yetunde Adeniji(GSM WC Iwajowa),Bose Akanni alias orobo( Seyi Acolyte),Sarah Sobowale,Tope Aworele and all our women who have recently been appointed as Board Members, local government Secretaries, Assistant Secretaries and Supervisory Councillors.

“On behalf of our women I extend our profound gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency GSM for not allowing the labour of love and commitment of our women to the advancement of our great party PDP and all its candidates to go in vain.

“These appointments have three fold significance; as a vote of confidence,a call to serve and an affirmation that we have a Leader that rewards hard work, commitment and loyalty.

“Without a shadow of doubt, this recognition will only serve as a filip that will motivate our women to become even more committed and encourage them to redouble their efforts to ensure the continued relevance of our party at the helm of affairs in the years to come.

“I seize this opportunity to charge all the female appointees just like I charged some new appointees who paid a courtesy visit to my office couple of days ago;

“You are under the spotlight now and have just received a mandate which will either;

1) Affirm the vote of confidence these appointments represent by our Leader or discourage him from giving opportunities to more women in future.

2) It will encourage our Principal to include even more women into the political space if the present crop of female appointees and elected perform exceptionally well.

“Bottom line, your performance on this opportunity given to y’all will either open the door for more women to be involved in governance going forward or shut the door.

3) Outstanding performance of all our women holding political office will make our party and all our candidates the most credible and attractive choice to the voters/electorate post 2027.

“That should be our target ie enhancing the credibility of our party and all our candidates post 2027 by being accessible and working to enhance the welfare of our people in our various local governments.

“I pray you all deliver on your core mandates and you can count on my support as much as humanly possible to enable you succeed.

“The conveyor belt of appointments have been rolling.While appreciating our Leader GSM,we cannot but like Oliver Twist ask for more so that we can give even more of our women who have displayed commitment and who posses capacity to add value to governance and nation building an opportunity to also showcase their talents and competencies.

“Once again on behalf of the female demographic in the state, I appreciate our Leader; His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde for keeping faith with the female demographic of the state by continuing to fulfill the promises made to the citizenry in the Roadmap to Sustainable.” Development : Omituntun 2:0 document during the last campaigns.”
