Ibadan Festival: Ibadan Southeast LG Emerges Winner of CCII Football Competition

 

Alawode football team of Ibadan South East Local Government has won the final of CCII Football competition which was one of the events marking this year Ibadan Cultural Festival.

The football competition was played at Ilaji farm football pitch in Ona ara Local Government of Oyo State.

Indigenes and friends of Ibadan land, people from neighbouring villages, trooped in to show support for the team of their choice as Ibadan South East football team played against Ibadan North East.

To the admiration of the spectators, the Alawode football team of Ibadan South East Local Government, with good physical fitness, displayed developed football skills of ball control, passing, shooting, dribbling, and tackling which all led to their victory over their opponent.
Speaking at the presentation of the trophy to the winner of the football competition, the President General for CCII, Barrister ‘Niyi Ajewole said the competition was organised to
help the young ones learn how to distinguish between effort and ability, to increase self-discipline and the awareness of the value of preparation. He then congratulated the Alawode football team for their excellent work.

In his congratulatory message, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode who was ably represented by the Chief of Staff for the great council, Prince Olusegun Oludaye, thanked the entire Alawode football team for the wonderful work and the incredible achievement.

” Your accomplishment fills my heart with joy and I am so proud of you. I wish you even more success in the future”, The council boss reiterates.

Present at the occasion were the Ibadan Cultural Festival planning Committee Chairman, Balogun Gafar Ojetola, former President of Ajorosun Club, Engr. Abiola Alli, CCII Executive and other members, PDP members from Ibadan South East Local Government and officers from Education Department.
