Mogajis in Ibadanland, the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Baale’s, Chiefs and the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Engr. Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi (JDS) has commended governor Seyi Makinde over successful completion of new ultramodern Olubadan palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan billed to be commission on Wednesday, 10th of July, 2024.
They also praised the governor over the forthcoming coronation of Olubadan designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin slated on Friday, 12th of July, 2024.
A statement by the President of Ibadan Mogajis, Mogaji Asimiyu Ariori, and Coordinator, Ibadan Compound Peace Initiative (ICPI), Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade commended governor Makinde for his exemplary leadership and commitment to cultural development in Oyo State.
The statement described the completion of the new Olubadan palace, Oke-Aremo, as a testament to the governor’s dedication to preserving the rich cultural heritage of Ibadanland.
“We commended him for making Ibadan proud and ensuring we have something to be proud of, he has successfully written his name not only in gold but in Diamond.
“Despite all rancour that followed the emergence of the Olubadan designate and setting up of the coronation committe, he used his wisdom to resolve it.”
According to the statement, the new Olubadan palace, which was completed in record time and after been abandoned for a very long time, is a symbol of tradition and modernity, blending the best of both worlds.
The statement noted that Governor Makinde’s efforts in ensuring a smooth coronation process for the new Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, have also been praised by stakeholders.
“The new Olubadan palace, Oke-Aremo, is a fitting residence for the Olubadan, and its completion marks a significant milestone in the history of Ibadanland.
