Ibadan philanthropist and founder of the Akande Tunde Movement, Amb (Dr) Akande Kazeem Babatunde has sympathised with the entire citizens of Ibadan and environs after the explosion that rocked the city last night.
While there’s no verified cause of the explosion or the extent of the damage, Akande has extended his love and thoughts to those who were affected by this incident.
Akande who also visited the site of the explosion this morning expressed that he’s touched by the displacement of life and loss of properties that the incident has caused.
He sympathised with family and friends of the victims while advising that we remain vigilant has citizens and pay attention to our environs.
Akande noted that while we await report on the incident, his movement will partner with the government to give relief materials to victims who especially those who have been incapacitated in any way or have been displaced from their home.
Accompanying him were members of the Akande Tunde Movement and other prominent Ibadan personalities.
Akande further lauded the effort of the state’s governor, Oluseyi Makinde, for his swift response to the situation.
Akande closed his statement by praying for the safety of Ibadan and admonishing stakeholders to ensure measures are put in place to prevent such occurrence in future.
