With joyful heart, the entire staff of Ibadan South East Local Government kicked start the new year with prayer sessions in Christianity and Islamic ways.
The prayer session took place recently at the Council Secretariat, Mapo Hill, Ibadan.
In his keynote address, the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode welcomed all members of staff to the year 2025 and also appreciated them for their significant roles and commitment to the services of the Local Government during the previous year.
While promising them a conducive working environment, staff welfare and payment of disturbance allowances to newly posted members, the council boss charged the staff to be more efficient dedicated, proactive in the discharge of their respective duties and do their best in making the Local Government to achieve its goals.
He prayed fervently for progress, good health, sound mind and long life for all staff members. He wishes them positive change in all ramifications.
The Head of Local Government Administration, Dr Agnes Olakunbi Ojo in her speech, lauded the efforts of the chairman and members of staff in moving the council forward.
She advised the staff members in the council secretariat likewise those serving in various house stations to adopt punctuality to work, diligence and hard work as their new year resolution, discharge their duties amicably in line with the staff regulations of the Local government Service Commission and fulfil all righteousness.
Showing his gratitude, the NULGE Chairman, Comrade Oluseye Akinola
thanked the Chairman for his responsiveness and commitment to the well-being of the staff members.
Comrade Akinola then promised on behalf of other members of staff, that they will be more diligent and dedicated to their job.
Present at the prayer session were the Chief Whip of the Legislative arm of the council, Hon. Akeem Alarape, Supervisory Councillor for Works, Hon. Azeez Saheed SP, Chief of Staff, Hon. Olusegun Oludaye, Directors, Heads of various Departments, and other members of staff.
