With the recent outbreak of cholera in various parts of Oyo State, Hon. Olusola Adeleke, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, has issued a strong warning and appeal to the public, urging them to maintain the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation to prevent the further spread of the deadly disease.
The Chair’s call for vigilance came in response to reports of cholera cases in neighboring communities and the need to ensure that Ibarapa Central remains cholera-free.
In his address, the chairman specifically called on schools, markets, and food vendors to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, as these are common breeding grounds for cholera.
He admonished school authorities to ensure that proper handwashing facilities were provided and used regularly by students, while market and food vendors were urged to keep their stalls clean and dispose of waste in a sanitary manner.
“Cholera is an extremely dangerous disease that spreads quickly if we do not take proper precautions.
“We must all work together to keep our communities safe and healthy,” he said.
