In order to enable farmers in various villages in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas of Oyo State to have access to clean water, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju has facilitated the construction of an additional five solar-powered boreholes in the constituency. Three of the five boreholes are located in villages, namely: Kajola (Ayete), Igbo Nla (Igangan) and Lajeebon (Idere), all in Ibarapa North and Ibarapa Central Local Government Areas of Oyo State, while those of Tapa and Igboora communities are located at Oke Ayo and Isale Oba, respectively.
Hon. Adepoju, a member representing the federal constituency in the House of Representatives, disclosed that the villagers, during electioneering, requested strongly for clean water in order for them to refrain from drinking contaminated water. The lawmaker expressed that the facilities are a fulfilment of one of his promises during the campaign, appreciating the villagers for their support before, during and after the election that produced him as their representative.
Hon. Adepoju said that his representation would continue to bring democratic dividends to constituents regardless of their location in the federal constituency. “Those who are doing everything every day to feed us should have access to basic amenities like water. It is sad that many of our people in villages drink from streams, which is very harmful to their health. With this facility, we are not only easing their access to clean water; we are also contributing to their well-being to make them healthy in their efforts to feed our community and the nation at large,” Ibarapakan said.
The heads of the villagers appreciated the lawmaker and prayed to God to continue to grant Hon. Adepoju the strength, wisdom and understanding to steer the ship of the federal constituency to the right path.
