Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has encouraged members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across Oyo State to key into the party’s ongoing digital membership registration exercise.
Hon. Adepoju made the appeal on Saturday, March 7, 2026, while engaging constituents In Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North in his country home, Igbo-Ora.
The federal lawmaker stressed that the registration drive is vital for repositioning the party and reinforcing its internal system ahead of future political activities and elections.
According to him, an organised and accurate membership record is fundamental to the stability and growth of any political party. He noted that having a dependable register would make coordination easier, improve communication within the party and strengthen its operational framework.
Hon. Adepoju also explained that the directive by INEC requiring political parties to maintain updated membership records in digital and physical formats makes the exercise particularly important at this time.
The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character also noted that the exercise should be seen as an opportunity for members to reaffirm their commitment to the party and play an active role in its affairs.
He maintained that wider participation in the process would help consolidate unity among party members and reinforce the PDP’s grassroots structures across Oyo State.
The federal lawmaker urged party supporters to take advantage of the registration process to regularise their membership and contribute to the continued growth of the party.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the PDP leadership in the state for sustaining cooperation and maintaining functional party structures at the ward and local government levels.
He reiterated that the PDP’s enduring relevance in the state’s political space is largely driven by its strong connection with the grassroots and its commitment to democratic ideals.
The Ibarapa-born lawmaker expressed optimism that the PDP would continue to remain a strong and competitive political platform in Oyo State.
