Ibarapakan to Commission 9 Constituency Projects, Invites Gov Makinde For Flag-off of 1.5km Road Project on Tuesday

Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, will commission nine projects and flag off a new road project tomorrow, Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in the constituency.

The commissioning of the physical projects by Hon. (Dr.) Adepoju, who is a first-timer in the Nigerian House of Representatives, will be the first time in the history of the constituency that such a list of developmental projects will be commissioned simultaneously.

The lawmaker, while expressing his delight with the way the projects were handled, revealed that the nine development-driven projects will improve the standards of living in the federal constituency.

The projects that have been outlined for commissioning include a solar-powered cold room for community use, three cassava processing plants in different communities, motorised boreholes, among others.

The lawmaker said the majority of the people of Ibarapa are predominantly farmers, noting that during electioneering campaigns, a lot of farmers complained about waste being experienced on a daily basis in their bid to produce food for the nation.

Ibarapakan said that each of the community’s cassava processing plants will be overseen by a manager to ensure good management.

He stated that the community is expected to produce the person to man each factory, adding that the entire project is fully mechanised to ease the stress of farmers, who are the end-users of the facilities.

Ibarapakan also disclosed that the about-to-commission solar-powered cold room will reduce food waste, particularly perishable food, and that butchers, market men and women will breathe a sigh of relief with the solar-powered cold room, which was designed to increase productivity by preserving food materials.

The lawmaker said motorised boreholes will also be commissioned alongside the aforementioned projects.

He stated that the boreholes are carefully placed in locations where people lack access to water and that the project aims to eliminate the scarcity of drinkable water in the areas.

The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Federal Character, said construction of most of the projects started in 2023, appreciating the constituents for their continued support and the level of acceptance his presentation has received since June 2023.

The lawmaker also said efforts are in the works to facilitate a mini-stadium in the constituency, emphasising that deliberation on the location of the project is ongoing. He stressed that the facility will assist talented young footballers in the constituency.

In the same vein, Hon. Adepoju will also be hosting the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, to flag off the construction of the 1.5km Wema Bank-Post Office-Sagaun-Onimangoro-NDLEA Road.

The reconstruction of the road linking Wema Bank, Town Hall Igboora, Polaris Bank, Methodist Grammar School, Igboora, Owotutu filling stations’ headquarters, Adegoke College, Onimangoro Divisional Police Station, NDLEA Office, Igboora, Olu-Aso of Iberekodo Palace, Eruwa Road is facilitated by Hon. Adepoju.

The lawmaker stressed that the project is expected to ease vehicular movement of commuters coming from Eruwa Town and lessen the pain of residents who use the road every day.

Ibarapakan emphasised that with mutual understanding, he is confident that Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North will experience significant progress and development under his leadership, which will be a source of pride for all.
