One bright morning some months ago, a group of women strolled briskly into the elegant Beulah Adeoye Foundation’s House opposite Veterinary Hospital, along Mokola-Sango road, Ibadan. The women, selected through a rigorous process were invited to have a taste of Amofin Beulah’s large heart, generosity and kindness.
Once inside the sprawling building, the women quickly realized the openness of the man who had extended such an invitation to them – a clear departure from the disposition of most other politicians and philanthropists.
Typical of him, Amofin welcomes the excited and enthusiastic women with open arms and assured them of his constant support. The women in return calmly felt at home and warmly told the legal titan of their best wishes and support. Long before the arrival of the women, Amofin Beulah, through his life-changing foundation had always been at the vanguard of providing succor to the people regardless of their class or caste. For instance, his foundation has different programs for different categories of people. Targeted at a specific set of people, most of these programs have impacted lives and inspired hope.
The Beulah Food Bank for example was established to cater, care and support the vulnerable, the poorest of the poor and the needy. Wholesome in their packages, this food bank has helped people to fight the pangs of hunger – especially at a time of excruciating economic crunch. Beneficiaries cut across different demography, demonstrating Amofin Beulah’s foresight in getting across to everyone. Consequently, the Beulah Education Fund equally ensure provision of financial assistance in forms of grant and scholarship to indigent students in the state.
Quite a significant number of students have benefitted from that visionary idea, laying to rest the nightmare of dropping out of schools. There’s also a revolving interest-free loan to small business owners and petty traders. The most interesting aspect of this loan is that beneficiaries, once they demonstrate commitment to repayment stand a chance of having their loans doubled. Again, quite a lot of traders and business owners have benefitted from this initiative as well. The list is endless and this writer will find a time to chronicle some of the transformative initiatives and interventions of Amofin Beulah Adeoye.
Conscious of his background, Amofin Beulah Adeoye through his foundation and other noble and notable interventions has advanced the collective interest of the people at different capacities. He has shown repeatedly where he stands between lifting people up and pulling them down. He represents the new generation of adaptive leaders whose visions will change the course of history and chart a new path forward as our country and state fight for their rightful places among the comity of nations.
Back to the women. By the time they listened to Amofin Beulah Adeoye spoke about his inspiring story, they were all blown away. For a fact, they found his story relatable and believable. Here’s a man who rose excellently across board. Humble and down-to-heart, Amofin Beulah Adeoye’s breathtaking story gave him away as a light in a world full of darkness.
