Oyo State Governor,Seyi Makinde has hinted that some investors have expressed readiness to complete the power plant at Ikere goged dam in Iseyin local government.
The governor gave the hint during the official coronation and presentation of staff of Office to the new Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Oyebola Adeyeri 111.
In his address, the state Makinde, who appreciated the people of Iseyin for voting massively for in the last governorship election, charged the new Aseyin and other traditional rulers present to act as gatekeepers of their lands and ensure their mining communities are protected from illegal miners.
Governor Makinde also used the occasion to name the road that leads to the College of Agriculture and Renewable science Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in Iseyin, as Aseyin Road.
In his acceptance Speech, the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Oyebola, who appreciated the efforts of governor Seyi Makinde in making the Programme a success, pledged that he would use the throne to promote the cultural heritage of Yoruba.
Oba Oyebola also used the occasion to call on the people of Iseyin irrespective of their religion political and economic differences, to come together and work together for the development of the land and oke Ogun in general.
Earlier in his Opening remarks, the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon Olusegun Olayiwola, admonished Oba Sefiu Oyebola, to always be alive to his traditional responsibilities by serving and protecting the interests of his people and at the same time give unflinching support and loyalty to the oyo state government.
In their various remarks, a former deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Hamid Gbadamosi, the Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial district, Senator Fatai Buhari, and an illustrious son of Iseyin, Chief Owonikoko SAN, who appreciated the efforts of governor Seyi Makinde in bringing development to the Oke zone, expressed optimism that reign of the new Aseyin shall bring good fortunes to the Iseyin Land.
The new Aseyin, Oba Sefiu Oyebola was born on 6th April 1969 to a royal lineage of Aseyin of Iseyin Land, and he’s happily married to Olori Mariam Oyebola and bliessed with a daughter Oluwaseyi Oyebola.
