The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Taiwo Adisa, has debunked the rumour making the rounds that Governor Seyi Makinde allegedly abandoned the family of late Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Rt. Hon Kehinde Ayoola who died about ten months after a brief illness.
The wife of the former commissioner, Professor Oluwakemi Ayoola also died few days ago. Some unconfirmed news had filtered the social media that the Governor reneged on the promises made to the Ayoola’s family.
Adisa, while speaking on IBR political programme anchored by Anuoluwapo Omorinde, monitored by GOALPOACHER NEWS on Saturday, the Governor’s Spokesman noted that the Governor has been fulfilling the promises made to the family during the funeral ceremony organized by the state government in honour of the late Kehinde Ayoola.
Adisa’s words:
“The death of Mrs. Ayoola is particularly painful because it happened at this time when her two sons and the entire family needed her the most.
“Late Professor Oluwakemi Ayoola didn’t die from neglect or depression, but she was a cancer patient. We learnt that her late husband had been managing her with the ailment before his demise.
“It is difficult to manage cancer, the ailment degenerated a while ago and her unfortunate demise has nothing to do with whether the government has been taking care of her or not but the Governor stood by the family since the late Hon Ayoola died.”
