JUST IN: Protest erupts at PDP secretariat over National Secretary post

Protesters loyal to National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Sam Anyanwu who was removed by Court of Appeal have stormed the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, opposing the anticipated resumption of Sunday Ude-Okoye. Nigerian Tribune reports.

The protesters, gathered at the rear gate of the PDP’s Wadata Plaza headquarters in Wuse Zone 5, chanted slogans such as “No vacancy in the National Secretary’s office” and “Senator Sam Anyanwu remains the National Secretary.”

Security has been heightened at the premises, with additional police officers deployed to maintain order and prevent any disruption.

A police lorry has been stationed outside the main gate, and personnel are working alongside the PDP’s regular security team to search workers and visitors before granting them entry into the building.

At the time of filing this report, no national officer of the party had arrived at the secretariat.
