Oyo state Governor, Engineer Seyi makinde has said that the present administration will not chase away road side traders until government provides an alternative place for them to transact their businesses.
Makinde stated this while answering questions at the stakeholders consultative forum on 2021 Budget, which was held at the international Conference Centre, University of ibadan.
According to the Governor, traders in the state contribute immensely to the economic development of Oyo state, hence the need for government to give priority to their welfare and support them in their businesses through provision of conducive environment.
Speaking on the forthcoming local government election, Makinde said his administration was working towards having credible council polls with view to bringing much needed development to the state.
The Governor emphasized the need for people to continue to support the state Government in its efforts to turn around the state from poverty level to Prosperity.
