Ahead of the forthcoming local government election in Oyo State, the chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Olorunsogo Local Government, Hon. Juliana Akani, has called on all members of the party to forget their differences and join hands to make Olorunsogo and the party better and greater.

Juliana equally called on residents of the local government to continue to support the PDP and the government of Engr. Seyi Makinde, which according to her, means well for the local government and has been doing well in transforming the state.

The chairmanship candidate made these statements on Monday at the residence of the Executive Chairman of Oyo State Mineral Development Agency, Hon Abiodun Oni, in Igbeti after her emergence few weeks ago as the party candidate for the May 15, 2021 local government election.

GOALPOACHER NEWS quoted the PDP candidate as appreciating all party leaders and members in the local government for rallying behind the party during the primaries and for the confidence reposed in her to fly the flag of the party.

She said: “I give glory to Almighty God for the privilege to visit one of our respected leaders, Hon Abiodun Oni, after my nomination as the candidate of the party for the local government election.
“My words to our leader, Hon Oni and the good people of Igbeti are those of appreciation and gratitude. I appreciate everyone for standing by the party during the primaries and for the confidence reposed in me to fly the party’s flag.”

Hon Abiodun Oni who is the leader of the youths and convener of the Youth Vanguard, has made it clear to all the candidates to champion human and capital development of Igbeti as this would attract local and international investors to our tourists centres and to also tap into our mineral resources as these will create enabling environment for small scale businesses to thrive. He has mandated us to work closely with the four cardinal programmes of the Seyi Makinde led administration which revolve round health, Security, Education and Economy. These are the major areas our administration will focus on.”

“I also want to charge everyone to forget the past and focus on how we can all make our party greater. We all must come together to prosecute the forthcoming election and also strengthen our party for victories in all future elections.

“Let me also use this opportunity to urge residents of the local government to continue to support the PDP, especially the government of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, because it means well for our local government.

As the candidate of our party, I will bring good governance and dividends of democracy home to our people, when elected into office at the local government level.” She concluded.

The thank you visit to Hon Abiodun Oni’s country home had in attendance the ten councillorship candidates, some party leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party.
