Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has directed all the 68 local government and council development areas caretaker chairmen and members whose three-month tenure extension ends on Friday March 19th, to hand over to the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), in their respective councils.
Makinde made the order of dissolution through Hon. Commissioner for Local government and Chieftaincy Matters, Bar. Bayo Lawal on Tuesday, following the expiration of the three month tenure extension.
The Oyo state House of Assembly extended the tenure of all the 68 LGAs chairmen and their members by three months last January, all the chairmen and members of the council are directed to vacate office latest today, Thursday 18th March 2021.
In a memo dated March 18th 2021, and titled, ‘Handing over by Caretaker Committee Members , endorsed by Bayo Lawal, directed the caretaker chairmen and members to vacate office on the said date following the expiration of their tenure extension.
