The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde on Friday distributed bags of rice to all tertiary institution Student Leaders, Indigenous and the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria. Heritage echo reports.
The Student Leaders received their bags of rice including for their school’s MSSN
through the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Student Affairs, Comrade Victor Olojede, at the Ministry of Education, the state secretariat, Ibadan.
It could be recalled that Governor Makinde Seyi Makinde had earlier presented 28 18-seater buses to tertiary institutions and signed the state scholarship and bursary awards for 2024 for all students in the state two weeks ago.
According to Victor, he said the governor has been catering to tertiary institution students during the month of Ramadan over the years, explaining that gov. Makinde made an additional effort this year to ameliorate the pains caused by the current economic hardship and soaring prices of foodstuffs.
It is the usual practice of Governor Seyi Makinde to cater to the students and the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) during the Month of Ramadan, so this year is not left out.
” All of them have collected, including student indigenous associations, the representatives of the MSSN not present but their school Union leaders also collected on their behalf and will be delivered to their Amirs when they got back to their various schools,” Olojede stated.
Some of the student leaders after receiving the governor Ramadan gifts commended the magnanimity of Seyi Makinde towards the state students, describing him as the most student-friendly governor.
