Oyo State Governor ‘Seyi Makinde, has today charged newly elected Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of thirty three local government areas in the State, to replicate good governance of his administration at the grassroots.
Governor Makinde who gave the charged during swearing-in ceremony held at the House of Chiefs, Parliament Building, Secretariat, Ibadan, said there is no room for excuses to deliver on their mandates.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Barrister Bayo Lawal, reaffirmed commitment to adequate democratic practice with the aim of entrenching democracy and delivery of good governance to the people of Oyo State.
Earlier in his welcome address, Commissioner for local Government and Cheiftaincy matters, Mr. Olusegun Olayiwola, assured that the newly inaugurated Chairmen will meet expectation of electorates.
He enjoined them to work with respective executives, utilize their expertise and fostering collaboration to ensure that dividends of democracy get to people in the nooks and crannies of Oyo state.
The swearing-in ceremony had in attendance, lawmakers, commissioners, political gladiators, traditional rulers, religious leaders and Chief Judge of the state, justice Iyabo Yerima who administered oath of office and allegiance for the newly elected Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen.
