Oyo state Governor Seyi Makinde has affirmed that his administration would not spare any effort in keeping the people safe and secured despite the current tensed atmosphere across the nation
The Governor made this known on Tuesday, when he received the new Assistant Inspector General of police (AIG) zone 11 Olasupo Babatunde to his office on a courtesy visit
Governor Makinde noted that with the harsh economic realities across the nation, many Nigerians have become agitated and prone to violence and crime, but his government remained committed to work through the challenging period for the benefit of the people
The Governor while pledging support to the police at all times, reiterated that though community policing is a better approach to quell insecurity, the creation of state police would be the best solution to addressing security challenges in the country.
The new AIG Olasupo Babatunde said the zone would be repositioned to focus on policing with the people rather than policing on the people with symbiotic relationship to abate crime.
The new AIG solicited for cooperation and collaboration with government and the people and commended the diligence of Governor Seyi Makinde in ensuring a reasonable atmosphere of peace in the state.
