The Oyo State Government this Saturday, sympathised with the victims of the fire outbreak which razed Moniya Market on Friday following a petrol tanker explosion that destroyed peoples means of livelihood while some were feared dead with several vehicles and motorcycles burnt.
Governor Makinde who was ably represented by the Oyo State Commissioner for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport, Professor Raphael Afonja at the scene of the fire incident that occurred at Moniya Motor Park.
Afonja, who inspected the scene alongside his team sympathised with the families of those who lost their lives in the inferno.
He appreciated the Chairman, Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Taoreed Adedigba Jimoh for his quick response which helped in reducing the damages.
In his own response, the Chairman Akinyele Local Government, Taoreed Adedigba Jimoh, thanked Governor Makinde for the visit. He commended the Oyo State Fire Service and the Federal Fire Service for their timely response.
The Chairman also appreciated the roles played by the Nigeria Police, FRSC Officials, SSS, NEMA, OYTMA, Akinyele Environmental Health Officers, Red Cross among others.
