The Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Liaison Office in Abuja, Hajarat Adetola Adedibu has joined other eminent women across the globe to participate at the 68th edition of annual Commission on the Status of Women in New York, United States of America.
Adetola who spoke with Goalpoacher News from New York expressed her profound gratitude to her leader, benefactor and mentor, Governor Seyi Makinde for the support given to her to join other eminent women across the globe for the global event.
According to her, this exposure has further helped her in her aspiration of a better society for women .
Hajarat Adetola Adedibu who went alongside the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Hon (Mrs) Toyin Balogun, Hon Bisi Oluranti said, “this is United Nations largest annual gathering on gender equality and women’s empowerment.
“The priority theme is, “Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective”.
Speaking further, the daughter of late strongman of Oyo politics stated that Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration is already addressing some of the issues raised.
Adetola stated that the Governor has already surpassed the United Nations standard for the number of women to be appointed.
