The Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Youth and Sports, Kazeem Bolarinwa has urged registered voters with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, who have not collected their Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, to go and do so ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
Bolarinwa stated this on Wednesday at a PVC sensitisation programme held in conjunction with the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
Speaking on the topic, “Build The Youth, Build The Nation,” the Governor’s aide admonished all participants to continue to vigorously pursue voter education in all the places they find ourselves, such as in the churches, schools, markets and families, among others.
GOALPOACHER NEWS quoted Bolarinwa as saying that: “Without your PVC, you are powerless. Without your PVC, you can only complain, you cannot contribute. That is why we are calling on those of you that have registered for PVC to influence others around them to register as well so as to exercise their right to vote.”
He further said the self-imposed political apathy embraced by youths would not resolve the national challenges or improve governance in the country, adding that such an attitude would only continue to stunt development.
