Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, Asiwaju of Ona Ara and CEO of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, on Friday hosted His Eminence, Dr. Sunday Ola-Makinde, Prelate Emeritus of the Methodist Church Nigeria, at Ilaji Resort. The occasion was a dual celebration, commemorating Chief Sanusi’s recent conferment of a Doctor of Science Honoris Causa (D.Sc Honoris Causa) in Hospitality Management by Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, during its 16th Convocation Ceremony.
In his address, His Eminence, Dr. Ola-Makinde, praised Chief Sanusi’s visionary contributions to the hospitality industry and his unwavering dedication to community development. He encouraged Chief Sanusi to continue being a beacon of positive change.
The event also marked the grand finale of the JDS Free Medical Outreach, a groundbreaking initiative that provided critical healthcare services across all 33 local government areas of Oyo State. The outreach officially concluded at Ona Ara Local Government, delivering much-needed medical support to thousands of residents.
Chief Sanusi expressed his profound gratitude to the medical professionals, volunteers, and donors who played vital roles in the program’s success.
“This outreach demonstrates the power of collective effort in uplifting communities and enhancing access to healthcare. Let us keep striving to build a healthier, more united society,” Chief Sanusi remarked.
The celebration was graced by notable personalities, including the NNPP gubernatorial candidate in the last general elections in Oyo State, Engr. Popoola POJ; People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Oyo Chieftain, Hon. Dare Adeleke; Chief Waheed Ajao Adurodekun; Iyaloja Saratu Aduke Konibaje; and members of the Iyaloja-in-Council, among others.
