MOPOL Base:Orelope PDP Leaders Hail Makinde,Throw Weight Behind Administration

The decision of the Oyo State government to locate the Police Mobile Force 72 Squadron Base in Ago-Are, Oke Ogun, has been hailed as well-thought-out and commendable, as it is said to be capable of ensuring the security of coming Agribusiness investments and the lives of the teeming people of the zone.
Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oorelope Local Government, Igboho, gave this indication on Wednesday, lauding Governor Seyi Makinde for his administration’s consideration of Ago-Are as the base for the security outfit.
The leaders, including Alhaji Yakubu Oladoja; Oorelope Local Government PDP chairman, Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Adeoti; Hon. Yunusa Adekunle Yusuff, Alhaji Sarafadeen Alani Yusuff (Al-Wajud) and Hon. Tajudeen Adeniran, said the sentiments being whipped up by some individuals on the location of the MOPOL Base in Ago-Are was needless and that it was an attempt to throw spanners in the good works being done by the governor.
According to the statement, the location of the MOPOL Base in Oke Ogun showed that the Makinde administration, indeed, places premium on the security of lives and properties in line with its service point agenda and that the governor will ensure equity and justice for all regions including Oke Ogun, which hitherto had been marginalised.
They urged the governor to remain focused on the task of delivering on the mandate given to him by the people of the state, adding that in the last one year, despite attempts to distract him, he has been able to impact the state positively and truly repositioned it to set the pace again for good.
The statement read: “We, the leaders of the PDP in Oorelope Local Government, use this medium to appreciate our governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for the well-thought-out decision to site the PMF 72 Squadron Base in Ago-Are, Oke Ogun.
“That decision showed that the incumbent administration in the state, indeed, places a premium on the security of lives and properties and that it will ensure equity and justice for the Oke Ogun area.
“Therefore, we condemn in its entirety a recent attempt by some individuals to whip up unnecessary sentiments against the location of the PMF Base in Ago-Are. These individuals are hell-bent on distracting the governor, coming up with different divisive tendencies and opposition.
“We urge the governor to remain focused on the task of developing the state, which he has handled excellently well in his first year in office. The PDP in Oorelope Local Government and the entire people of Oke Ogun are grateful for the attention the area has been getting under this government. With the ongoing Moniya-Iseyin road and Saki Township road projects, we are assured that Oke Ogun is in for the best.”
