The Chairman, Oyo State Park Management System, Alhaji Wasiu Tomiwa Omolewa, Tommy has expressed shock over the demise of Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Senator Lean Balogun.
Tommy’s tribute to the late monarch was contained in a condolence message issued on his behalf by his media aide, Onaolapo Omiyale Ademola on Friday.
The Passing of Kabiesi His Imperial Majesty Oba Dr. Mohood Ishola Olalekan Balogun ( Ali Okumade II) Olubadan of Ibadan is a rude shock to me.
“I had an abiding personal relationship with Oba Lekan Balogun whom I deeply respected.
“Mentor, leader and father figure, I visited Kabiyesi in July last year at his palace in Alarere Ibadan to seek his prayers and blessings immediately I was announced as the Chairman Oyo State Park Management System which he graciously gave, I visited him again during the festive period, little did I know it was the last time we would see each other face to face.
“I commiserate with His Excellency Engr. Abiodun Oluwaseyi Makinde, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Olubadan In Council, Ibadan Sons and Daughters, the wives and children of the late monarch and the entire Ali Iwo family over this irreplaceable loss. I pray for their comfort and peace at this trying peroid.
“It is unfortunate that Kabiyesi had to take his leave of us, at this period, when we are facing the most difficult time in the history of the Country, a critical period in our political landmarks.”
“His death will create a huge vacuum in the entire Yorubaland, while his sagacious and royal counsel will be sorely missed
Oba Dr. Senator Lekan Balogun is a quintessential traditional ruler, custodian and exemplar of Yoruba culture and tradition, posterity and history will forever remember Oba Lekan Balogun’s service and dedication to the Yorubaland, and his immense contributions to ensure peace and unity in Ibadan land and the country at large.”
May the Soul Of Kabiesi Rest in Perfect Peace….
