The wife of the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Deaconess Omolola Oladunni Alawode has been decorated as the Matron of National Council of Women’s Society, NCWS, Ibadan South East Local Government Chapter.
The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode, while receiving the Executive Members of National Council of Women Society into his office appreciated the roles played by women at making our communities and various homes peaceful.
The council boss, who was also decorated as the Patron of NCWS alongside his wife, reiterates that the importance of women can not be over emphasized in our social development.
He, further, enjoined the women not to relent in their assistance giving to support their various homes.
In her own speech, the State President of NCWS, Mrs Kikelomo Funmilayo Oyelade highlighted several objectives of National Council of Women Society such as empowering women folks, settling marital conflicts between husbands and wives, visiting the orphanage homes, paying tuition fees of the less privileged ones among others.
While appreciating Hon. Alawode and his wife for the warmth reception and their commitments to the progress of NCWS in Ibadan South East Local Government, Mrs Oyelade seeks their continuous support to the society.
The decoration ceremony was an event filled with music and dancing, joy and lots of promises to the society.
It was marked by a deep sense of enthusiasm and anticipation as Deaconess Omolola Alawode expressed her happiness over her appointment as the Matron of the Society, and pledged her unwavering commitment in ensuring that the society is poised for excellence.
In her response, the Director of Administration and General Services for Ibadan South East Local Government, Alhaja Tawakalitu Olufunke Adedotun appreciated the society for the honour given to both the Chairman and the Chairperson. She then promised on behalf of the Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaja Ayobami Monsurat Alaga, the unwavering support from the council to the NCWS.
The event was graced by the Leader of the Legislative arm, Hon. Ayodeji Oladepo and his wife, Councillor and Supervisory Councillor for Women affairs, Hon. Gbolagade Balikis and Hon. Toyin Adeniji respectively, NCWS executives from various Local Government among many others.
