The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) Oyo state chapter, led by Chairman Dr. Happy Adedapo, paid a courtesy visit to Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board (OYSHMB) Chairman, Dr. Akin Fagbemi.
The visit aimed to congratulate Dr. Fagbemi on his appointment and appreciate his contributions to the state’s healthcare growth.
Dr. Adedapo praised Governor Oluseyi Makinde for approving health worker recruitment across various cadres.
He requested the state government’s approval of the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure, aligned with the federal government’s medical salary scale.
Additionally, Dr. Adedapo sought approval for the Medical Resident Training Fund to support doctors’ examinations and training.
The NMA also appealed for a competitive salary structure for Oyo state medical doctors, comparable to their federal counterparts.
In his remarks, The Chairman Oyo State Hospital Management Board, (OYSHMB)Dr. Akin Fagbemi commended the NMA for their outstanding work in the state and nation.
He emphasized the partnership between the Oyo state government and NMA in providing accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare.
Dr. Fagbemi acknowledged medical doctors’ critical role in delivering sustainable healthcare services.
He pledged support for NMA’s future programs and promised to discuss the association’s concerns with relevant authorities.
Present at the visit were Dr. Fagbemi, Director of Medical Services Dr. Femi Adesanya, and NMA representatives Dr. Happy Adedapo, Dr. Joyce Olaniyi, Dr. Tobi Bright, and Dr. Olugbenga Alo.
