Odun Oba Onpetu Festival: Ogbomoso South Chair, Hon Oyedokun Calls For Preservation of Cultural Heritage

The Executive Chairman of Ogbomoso South local government, Hon Oyedokun Oyeniyi Timothy, (OOT), has called on the sons and daughters of Ogbomoso to preserve their culture and heritage.

The council boss gave the admonition on Saturday at the celebration of this year’s Odun Oba Onpetu Festival held in Ijeru, Ogbomoso South.

While congratulating His Royal Majesty, Oba Sunday Oladapo Oyediran, Onpetu of Ijeru Kingdom, Hon Oyedokun said culture remained catalyst for development.

“I extend my warm greetings to our royal father Oba Sunday Oladapo Oyediran, the Onpetu of Ijeru Kingdom and all sons and daughters of Ijeru kingdom on the auspicious occasion of the ‘Odun Oba Onpetu’ festival.

“Am encouraging our active participation in preserving our rich cultural heritage, as its one of our significance of unity in upholding Yoruba traditions.

“Let us always come together to honour our ancestors and celebrate our collective identity.”
