    Okanlomo Oodua, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi Bags Ona Ara Local Government Development Guru Award

    The Okanlomo Oodua and Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has been honoured with the Ona Ara Local Government Development Guru Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to grassroots development and community advancement.

    The award was presented as part of activities marking the first-ever Ona Ara Youth Summit, held recently at Ilaji Resort, Akanran. The historic summit provided a platform to celebrate distinguished individuals whose efforts have significantly supported the growth and development of Ona Ara Local Government.

    Presenting the award, the Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, described Chief Sanusi as a rare development-driven leader whose vision and commitment have continued to positively shape the local government.

    According to Dr. GLORIOUS, the developmental insight and passion of the Asiwaju of Ona Ara, Jubril Dotun Sanusi, remain unmatched, noting that he has consistently served as a backbone to the progress of Ona Ara Local Government.

    He particularly highlighted the establishment of Ilaji Resort in Akanran as a landmark investment that has boosted economic activities, youth empowerment, tourism development, and employment opportunities within the local government and its environs.

    “The impact of Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi on Ona Ara Local Government is profound and enduring. Since the establishment of Ilaji Resort, he has continued to complement government efforts through strategic investments, youth-focused initiatives, and unwavering support for community development,” Dr. GLORIOUS stated.

    The award, he added, reflects the collective appreciation of the people of Ona Ara for Chief Sanusi’s selfless contributions, visionary leadership, and dedication to sustainable development.

    The Ona Ara Youth Summit organizers noted that the Development Guru Award is reserved for individuals whose actions and investments have left visible and lasting impacts on the socioeconomic wellbeing of the local government.

    Chief Sanusi, a renowned philanthropist and community leader, was commended by youths and stakeholders present at the event, who described the recognition as well-deserved and inspiring for future generations.

    The award ceremony further reinforced Ona Ara Local Government’s commitment to celebrating excellence, encouraging private-sector partnership, and promoting development-driven leadership across communities.
