Olubadan: Yoruba Kingdom Has Lost A Gem – Adeaga

The Chairman, Oyo State Community and Social Development Agency (OYCSDA), Hon. Abideen Adeaga has described the demise of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Lekan Balogun as a great loss to Ibadan people and the entire Yoruba race.

Adeaga said this on Friday in a media statement, reacting to the passing of the monarch, who died at the ripe age of 81 early Friday morning after ruling for two years.

“Not just Ibadan but the entire Yoruba race has lost a gem, our Baba, the late Olubadan impacted positively on the growth of not just Ibadan but Nigeria and Africa.

“He was a philanthropist, politician and community leader on note who gave active support to the State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, in the implementation of people-oriented policies, programmes and activities that have made our State the toast of others,” he remarked.

Hon. Adeaga used the opportunity to console Governor Seyi Makinde and the people of Ibadan on the incident, praying that the process of installing the next Olubadan will be seamless.
