The executive chairman of Oluyole local government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji has received a prestigious award of excellence from the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiy Agbotomokekere, in recognition of his exemplary leadership in Oluyole.
Similarly, the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH Alumni Association Worldwide, representing graduates from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), also presented an Exceptional Leadership Award under category A to Olatunji in recognition of his contributions to the development of Oluyole LG.
The two award ceremonies held at separate events held on the same day; November 14.
While Olatunji received the Chief Imam’s Award at the popular Oja Oba Central Mosque in Ibadan, the LAUTECH Alumni Award was presented to him at the Great Hall of the University in Ogbomoso.
Addressing newsmen earlier, shortly after receiving his awards from the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Olatunji, who expressed appreciations for the recognition, dedicated it governor Seyi Makinde , who he said, has continued to mentor him and others through practical examples on the pros and cons delivering good governance.
Olatunji noted that he was motivated by the award from the Muslim community and vowed to rededicate himself to the service of his people and assured that he would continue to engender inclusive governance in Oluyole LG.
He promised to remain focused on further advancing the cause of social welfare, security, economic development, and infrastructural growth which according to him are the drivers of grassroots development in Oluyole.
The award ceremony at the Central Mosque, Oja Oba, witnessed the presence of dignitaries who were also awarded including member of the Federal House of Representatives; Hon. Remi Oseni, Chief Dotun Sanusi, chairman of Oyo State Local Government Pension Board; Hon. Ademola Ige, and others.
Olatunji said: “I am deeply grateful to the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, my father, Sheikh Abdulganiy Agbotomokekere, for this recognition. It means a lot to me and I can assure that this will motivate me to rededicate myself to the service of Oluyole local government and the well-being of my people.
“This recognition is not just for me, but for the hardworking people of Oluyole and the entire local government management staffs whose resilience and cooperation have made these achievements possible.”
Speaking to journalists in Ogbomoso, shortly after being presented his award, Olatunji, an alumnus of LAUTECH, expressed deep appreciation for the honor, recognizing the significant role his education at the institution has played in shaping his leadership journey while promising to continue to be a proud ambassador of the institution.
Other awardees of the LAUTECH Alumni Association Worldwide include the Pro Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Board of the institution, Professor Ayodeji Omole, represented by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Rom Kalilu, the school Registrar, Bursar, Librarian, Hon. Ademola Ige, and others.
