OPINION: THE PRECARIOUS CONDITIONS OF PACESETTER TRANSPORT SERVICES

I can see encomiums on the masses of Oyo State on the night that the newly acquired buses of Oyo State government entered the tollgate in Ibadan can not be denied that the dwellers in the state are ready to be transported through Iwo road, Challenge and Ojoo area of Ibadan land gives me the joy that infrastructural facilities are really developing in pace setter state.

Nevertheless, there is always rooms for improvements and I need to lend my voice on how things can be handled in a civilized manner.

The current Pacesetter Transport Services bus as a case study lacks some protocols which I believe that the upcoming transport project under Engr. Seyi Makinde should not allow such to flow by the time it will be inaugurated or launched.

As we all know that health is wealth , precautionary measures needs to be put in place to ban or prohibit the act of selling uncertified or unlicensed drugs or health related goods in the bus. I can’t hide my sadness seeing commuters of the bus purchasing a particular liquid drug claimed to be working for toothache, rashes and at the same time eye treatment when coming from new garage to Iwo road. Hmmmm, where did we get it wrong ? Is it that the commuters are not aware of the damages this single act can cause to their body or health.

Also, due to the longness of the luxurious buses; I will advice strategic designated bus stop should be adopted . Witnessing the pacesetter bus packing at any corner, junction or every bus stop is not ideal enough. Thank God for the availability of Micra cab which is still transporting for as low as thirty (30) naira for shorter distances and will also encourage them that the government is not trying to flush the out of business.

Moreover, appreciations should be giving to the governor in terms of managing the security situations in our dear State which is pertinent to the county at large, but in other not to jeopardize the life of conductors I will advice the ticketers should be seperated from the conductors. The ticketers can easily move into the nearby banks or handed over the available cash with them to their supervisor for remittance instead of the current situation of the conductors moving all around every bus stops inside the bus with cash in them.

In conclusion, cleanliness is next to Godliness, waste basket should be provided inside the buses for the commuters to drop their used items instead of throwing it out from the window and littered our environments. In doing this, it will enhance the efforts of the waste management team in combating heave heaps of dirt.

God bless Governor Seyi Makinde,
God bless PDP,
God bless Oyo State.

A very good observation from you Sir one more thing to add is the rate at which Agberos are getting too much in ibadan most likely from toll gate to iwo road if care is not taking they will use the bus as an avenue for pick pocketing commutters along that axis
