The Offa descendants Union Ibadan branch has called for unity and coexistence among the people of Yoruba origin in Nigeria and Diaspora.
The call was made during Offa day celebration by the union held at mini mapo hall, along Aleshinloye road, Ibadan
The third annual Offa Day anniversary in Ibadan is shaping up to be an exciting celebration! The event kicked off with the Offa Anthem, setting the tone for a day of unity and joy. Chairman of the Offa Descendants Union, Dr. Musibau Adekunle Ibrahim, emphasized the importance of love and unity among the Yoruba people ¹.
This theme was echoed by guest lecturer Muhammadu Lawal and other speakers, who stressed the need for collaboration and mutual support within the community. The event also featured an interlude drama segment, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba people.
Representatives from the Oyo State government expressed gratitude for the peace and security brought about by Governor Seyi Makinde’s efforts, which have greatly benefited the community.
The celebration concluded with a fundraising campaign, followed by heartfelt appreciation for Governor Makinde’s transformative work in Oyo State.

Dignitaries at the event include, Prof Daud Sangodoyin ,the Oyo State commissioner for works, Otunba Seye Famojuro, Mr Salawudeen Majeed Olalekan, Hon Sikiru Sanda, Hon Wole Akinleye, Hon Kamorudeen Mudashiru, Hon Akeem Olatunji , Hon Abideen Adeaga, Oyo State House of Assembly members among others.
