Oyo Agency For Persons With Disabilities Holds Interactive Session With Special Home Operators For PWDs, Gives Operational Guidelines

 

As part of effort by the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde to prioritize the welfare of Persons with special needs in Oyo State, the Agency For Persons With Disabilities on Wednesday held an interactive session with private home operators for Persons With Disabilities.

The interactive session was held at Western Hall, State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

The forum was part of the mandate for the agency to bring together stakeholders that are contributing positively to the growth and development of persons with disabilities in the state for proper coordination.

At the event, the Director-General, Agency For Persons With Disabilities, Barrister Ayodele Adekanmbi issued guidelines that will further enhance their mode of operations.

These include a number of students to enroll in, clean, safe and secure environment and well-being of special children.

Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, Mrs Oshin lauded the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde for creating an agency for Persons With Disabilities and commended the efforts of the pioneer Director-General of the Agency, Barrister Ayodele Adekanmbi for championing the cause of Special People in the state.

Mrs Oshin presented their requests to the agency and the DG promised to look into it.

Barrister Adekanmbi used the interactive session to announce that Governor Seyi Makinde has approved Disability Summit which will hold this year.

The summit is expected to bring all stakeholders together and draft strategic plans for the agency.
