Oyo State House of Assembly has extended the tenure of all the local government and local council development areas chairmen in the state for another period of six months.
The chairmen, whose six months tenure expired on June 18, would remain in office till December 17, 2020.
The extension was confirmed by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, during the house plenary on Friday.
Earlier, hon. Ademola Popoola, chairman House committee on Local government matters who read a comprehensive report on financial activities of the council bosses in the last six months urged the assembly to approve the request, as the tenure of the chairmen had expired on June 18, 2020.
