OYO COVID-19 TASK FORCE INTERVENES TO STOP THE SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS AT UCH

 

Sequel to Governor Makinde’s statement that the University College Hospital (UCH), accounts for forty percent of COVID-19 cases in Oyo State, the coordinator of the state Isolation Centers, professor Temitope Alonge has put the management of the hospital on its toes to find an emergency solution to curtail a larger outbreak of the pandemic in the institution.

The State’s COVID-19 vice-Chairman, Professor Alonge while briefing Governor’s Office Correspondents at Agodi, Secretariat this Wednesday said the state COVID-19 Task-force will support the UCH Task Force in order to halt the spread of the pandemic among the staff of the College who would thereafter associate with members of their various communities leading to more people contracting the virus.

He further debunked a report making the round that the state COVID-19 task force failed to involved medical practitioners in its fight against the novel virus.

Professor Alonge noted that the state task force is still on research for medicament and natural products that can enhance
the immune system to help in overcoming any viral infection.
