The Chief Press Secretary to the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, Mr Taiwo Adisa, has stated that the distribution of palliatives in the state will not exceed this week.
The spokesman who revealed the information this morning while speaking on a radio programme aired on Premier 93.5FM, added that the palliatives are already on ground.
He said: “We don’t want to follow the political arrangement we met on ground because we know that this virus is a leveler and does not understand politics. That is what has been causing delay all this while. We tried to make our own plans which we know would certainly work. We checked the standard of living of some people to include them in the plan.
“This time around, we are very much ready to begin the distribution and we will ensure they get to the people we are looking at. The palliatives are now at different zones in the state – Iseyin, Ogbomosho, Saki, Oke-Ogun, Ibadan, and the distribution will not exceed this week. We won’t distribute it once. We will also distribute the second round so that it will reach the 120,000 families we have targeted.”
Adisa, however, added that the much-expected palliatives will get to the people of Ibadan over the weekend
