Oyo state governor Engineer Seyi Makinde has reiterated the determination of the present administration to renovate one primary health care in all the 350 wards in the state.
Governor makinde who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Olubamiwo Adeosun, stated this at the appreciation gathering request by some beneficiaries of year 2020 Omituntun Free Health Programme and handing over of certificates to the participants core health workers across the 33 local government areas and 35 Local council development areas of the state, which was held at the state Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
Governor makinde noted that in order to reposition the primary health care to it rightful position the present government is considering to enroll the poor and the vulnerable into Oyo state health insurance scheme to sustain the present administration laudable intervention program in health sector.
Makinde who described Omituntun Free Health Mission as one of the ideologies of the present administration to deliver quality health care to the doorsteps of all the rural dwellers, the vulnerable and the poor.
In his remark, the commissioner for health in Oyo state, Dr. Bashir Bello extended gratitude to all participants in Omituntun Free health mission programme.
In their separate remarks, the beneficiaries of Omituntun Free Health Mission, extended their gratitude to Oyo state government for its goodwill gesture to the people of the state.
It’s reported that Oyo state government spent over #50 Million naira to execute Omituntun free health mission which took place in all the 33LGAs of the state, while over hundred thousand residents of the state were attended to. 1,980 different categories of surgeries were done all over.
