Oyo state government has inaugurated a 12 man local organizing Committee for the 2024 World Sango Festival to overseer the successful of the program that will be coming up in August 8th to 17th.
Recall that Sango Festival was listed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as World Class Festival.
The committee which was inaugurated today by the deputy governor of Oyo state, Barr. Adebayo Lawal, held at the Secretary to the state government office, Agodi, Ibadan.
Addressing the committee, The Deputy Governor, Barr. Bayo Lawal described accepting August 20th as ISESE day as an achievement for the current administration noting that there is no discrimination of any religion in the state but all religion are one.
He assured the devotees of all the religion present that the present government will cater for all religion and their worshippers.
Earlier in her address, the Co-Chairperson of 2024 World Sango Festival, Dr. Paula Gomez said that the Sango Festival has consistently been celebrated by 42 countries in the world adding that it is potential of tourism and development that will build the state allocation.
She promised the state government to put in their best and commitment for the success of the 2024 World Sango Festival.
