Oyo Govt Intensifies Efforts to Improve Water Access in Ibadan

The Oyo State Government is actively working to improve the supply of potable water to Ibadan residents through repair and replacement of damaged water pipelines across the metropolis.

The Executive Chairman of the Water Corporation of Oyo State, Hon. Elias Adeojo, announced this during an inspection of repair work in the Sango area.

He emphasised that these efforts align with Governor Seyi Makinde’s mandate to ensure access to clean water for all Oyo State residents.

According to him, repairs are currently underway on the pipeline serving the Oke-Itunu and Sango areas.

Adeojo noted that the completed repairs will also protect the road infrastructure from further damage.

Additionally, he said the government is replacing a damaged 100mm UPC water pipeline that supplies water to the Oke-Adu junction.

This replacement, he stated, will facilitate the extension of water services to Oke-Adu, Aremo, and surrounding areas.

“Service pipe repairs are also in progress at Mokola roundabout, Lalupon, and other locations to boost the Corporation’s overall productivity.”

Hon. Adeojo urged water consumers to support the Water Corporation’s efforts by paying their bills promptly.
