Oyo Govt Seeks Urgent Review of Sexual,Gender Based Violence Bill 2006

 

The Oyo state government through the Ministry of Women Affairs and social Inclusion will intensify more efforts in its advocacy campaign against rape in the country.

The commissioner for Women Affairs and social Inclusion,Alhaja Fausat Joke Saani stated this in a chat with journalists on the recent Rape and killings of Barakat Bello and Azeezat Shomuyiwa in Akinyele local Area of the state.

The Ministry of Women Affairs and social Inclusion has joined other Nigerians demanding justice for Barakat Bello, Azeezat Shomuyiwa and other victims of Rape across the country.

According to commissioner for women Affairs and social Inclusion,the ministry is working effectively with police and other security agencies to brought the perpetrators of the dastardly acts to book.

 

Alhaja Saani stated that the ministry would not rest on its oars by sensitizing the public on the need to protect child’s right.

 

The commissioner for women Affairs and social Inclusion also called for speedy implementation of the Sexual and gender Based violence Bill 2006.

Alhaja Fausat Joke Saani solicited the support of the Civil Society Organizations, Religious Bodies and Security Agencies to protect the child’s right act.
