The Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs Ololade Agboola has urged Directors in charge of promotion exercise in the State Civil Service to ensure that up-coming promotion exercise go smoothly without any hindrances.
She stated this at the sensitization programme towards the year 2017 to 2020 Promotion Exercise for Civil Servants in Oyo State.
The Head of Service, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Service Matters, Alhaji Fatai Oladeinde said the most important thing a Government owes its workers aside from regular payment of salaries is promotion, saying that, it will become almost impossible to rise to the pinnacle of one’s carrier if promotions are not conducted regularly.
She said. “it is barely two (2) years that this administration came on board, Governor Seyi Makinde approved the conduct of all outstanding promotions and the elongation of salary grade level of Directors from Grade level 16 to Grade level 17, this goes further to display the goodwill of Governor Makinde to the Civil Servants in Oyo State”.
Agboola added that Governor Seyi Makinde had said it on several occasions that no workers under his watch would be unjustly punished.
She highlighted some of the present Administration achievements which according to her had made living meaningful to workers of the State, as prompt payment of salaries, leave Bonuses, Pension and gratuities and other allowances to Civil Servants which has a multiplier effect on the economic of the public.
She pointed out that, the present Administration in the State will not condone any form of disloyalty to the Government, truancy, Laziness, Non-chalant attitude to work, misappropriation and other forms of misconduct, hinting that, promotion should be taken as a measure to evaluate performance, create incentive and rewards for deserving officers.
In his remarks, the Chairman Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Abiodun Aderibigbe said all necessary machinery have been put in place to ensure that 2017 -2020 promotion exercise is carried out such that there would be little or no error in the exercise.
