A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and a gubernatorial aspirant in the 2019 election, Chief (Dr) Azeez Popoola Adeduntan has congratulated the Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on his re-election.
He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for the smooth
process that led to the emergence of Akeredolu.
The former Commissioner for Health in statement in Ibadan made available by his media office, Dr Adeduntan commended the people of Ondo State, the political parties, candidates and security agencies for conducting themselves responsibly.
He advised the re-elected Governor not to take the people of the state for granted now that they had trusted him again for the second time and show grace and humility.
The 2023 Guber hopeful in Oyo State commended the President for his firm commitment to free and fair elections, the foundation of political and moral authority.
“I have consistently advocated for free and fair elections in the country because it
is the bedrock of true democratic order.
“Democracy will mean nothing if the votes of the people don’t count or if their
mandate is fraudulently tampered with.”
