Thousands of enthusiastic supporters filled the space at the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) campaign flag-off, where chairmanship candidate, Sola Adeleke was officially handed the party’s flag as the flagbearer for the April 27 local government election .
This investiture was performed at Eruwa Town Hall, Ibarapa East local government alongside the other LGA flag bearers in Ibarapa North Local Government, Hon. Lateef Akorede and counterpart in Ibarapa East local government.
In a release made available to newsmen through his media team, the event which saw the secretary of the party in Oyo State, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke who stood in for the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, led other members of Peoples Democratic Party to formalise the candidature of Hon Sola Adeleke as the party’s flag bearer.
Thrilled with the massive crowd, which symbolizes acceptability for Sola Adeleke chairmanship, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke expressed confidence of victory in the poll that is expected to take place this weekend. He further called on party faithfuls and supporters to go out on election day and conduct themselves peacefully and orderly to avoid any act capable of disrupting the election.
The PDP State Secretary emphasised that the PDP as a party remains the best alternative for salvaging Oyo State and Ibarapa central from ruins, urging electorates in the state to make the best choice by voting for PDP on the day of election.
Speaking at the flagoff, the host of the event, Hon Ademola Ojo (Oyo State Commissioner for Trade and Investment) urged Ibarapa people to vote out poverty and ensure they do not repeat failure, saying it is in the best interest of the Oyo State and Ibarapa people to vote for PDP, for rapid development and growth.
Hon Ademola Ojo, said PDP is the only party capable of bringing respite to Oyo State and Ibarapa people, urging the people of Ibarapa zone to vote for the party on Saturday.
He reiterated that there is no room for any anti party activities as far as PDP is concerned in Ibarapa zone, you’re either for us or you’re against us, there’s no sitting on the fence.
You must all mobilize aggressively on April 27 for local government election because we can not leave any stone unturned.
The event became ecstatic as the surging crowd burst into excitement when the PDP candidate, Hon Sola Adeleke mounted the podium to speak, throwing the atmosphere in an electrified mood as loud chants of “SOLAR SOLAR” as Sola Adeleke is fondly called by followers across Ibarapa zone, rented the air.
Sola Adeleke appreciated leaders of the PDP for making their platform available for him to run in his bid to take Ibarapa central to the next level, sharing his vision to use education, security, Health , entrepreneurship, agriculture and other infrastructure facilities to return the state of Ibarapa central to the path of prosperity.
He also highlighted plans to focus on youth and women empowerment through small and medium entrepreneurship financing scheme.
Sola Adeleke who could not hide his joy at the massive turnout of Ibarapa central people for his campaign, assured them of living up-to his promise and wouldn’t disappoint their trust if elected on April 27th.
The event was witnessed by various interest groups in Oyo state and Ibarapa zone at large who pledged their supports for Hon Sola Adeleke.
Personalities at the flag off includes the Oyo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Olatunbosun, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon Wasilat Adegoke, Hon. Funmilayo Orisadeyi, Hon. Seun Fakorede and other PDP stakeholders.
