The communique of PDP, Local Government Youth Leaders meeting held on April, 15th 2021 at PDP Party Secretariat , Molete, Ibadan.
The opening prayer was said by Hon. Sanni Wasiu Arewa , Oluyole Local Government Youth Leader, the meeting led by three Senatorial Coordinators: Hon. Salami Taiwo Kolawole, Oyo South Senatorial Coordinator. Hon. Salaudeen Tajudeen Alamu, Oyo North Senatorial Coordinator and Hon. Olanrewaju Afeez , Oyo Central Coordinator.
The meeting started with an observation from Hon. Adegbite N. O. Egbeda Local Government Youth Leader, that due respect and honour should be accorded to the only Chairmanship Candidate for local government election in our midst Hon. Kaseem Gbadamosi, the Lagelu Local Government Youth Leader to joined the coordinators on the podium
Hon. Olanrewaju Afeez charged the Youth Leaders to always speak in a voice and work as a meaningful team and this will enable our position to manifest in us ‘leader of youths’ he also suggested we should have a coordinator and one of the major purposes of this meeting is to congratulates our father, leader, the Southwest PDP general oversea, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Abiodun Makinde on the successful and victory in just concluded Southwest Congress .
Further more, the Oyo State PDP Youths congratulate the newly elected Southwest excos, the chairman Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja, the National PDP vice chairman, Alhaja Modinat Abosede Adedibu, Woman Leader, Hon. Seyi Bamidele, Youth Leader and the rest.
Therefore, the Local Government Youth Leaders commend and appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde for opportunity given to our members to served and holding political offices in this government, such as, Hon. Kaseem Gbadamosi, the former Lagelu LCDA caretaker chairman and chairmanship candidate, Hon. Alabanla Hameed, a member of board of Oyo State House of Assembly Service Commission and Hon. Simeon Olusola Ibitoye a councillorship candidate in Surulere Local Government, which we believed more to come.
Hon. Kaseem Gbadamosi urged PDP youths to continue supporting the government of Governor Seyi Makinde and be the agent of unity. However, Hon. Alabanla Hameed charged Hon. Kaseem Gbadamosi to continue be of help to others and always make himself available.
Hon. Ademuyiwa Adewara, Oyo West Youth Leader advised we should see ourselves as a family and never allowed Communication Gap.
Meanwhile, through Hon. Adekola Adeniran, the entire Local Government Youth Leader recognized and commend the efforts of Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports in his efforts to rebrand the ministry of youths and how he has been carry along youths in all areas of sports and youth development
Our meeting was blessed with the presence of Oyo State PDP Chairman, Alh. Omokunmi Mustapha, State Secretary, Alh. Wasiu Adeleke and Oyo State PDP Publicity Secretary, Engr. Akeem Olatunji.
In his speech, the PDP State Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke enjoined youth to always play the politics of inclusiveness and be agent of peace. The Oyo State PDP Publicity Secretary, Engr. Akeem Olatunji congratulates entire Oyo State PDP and our leader Governor Seyi Makinde on the victory in just concluded Southwest Congress, also he gave glory to the Almighty Allah that make it happened during GSM administration, that since the creation of PDP in Nigeria, Oyo State indigene has never emerged as a National PDP Vice Chairman.
Therefore, the Local Government PDP Youth Leaders, which had 29 attendees out 33, willingly picked and assigned Hon. Salami Taiwo Kolawole as a Coordinator with Hon. Salaudeen Tajudeen Alamu Secretary and Hon. Olanrewaju Afeez Publicity Secretary to pilot affairs of the Local Government Youth Leader in the State and officially introduced them to the State Chairman.
The PDP State Chairman, Alhaji. Omokunmi Mustapha, congratulated and charged the PDP Youths to their hopes living and be more patient with the party and government of GSM, that by God’s grace Governor Seyi Makinde will do more. He also recognized the roles of PDP Youth in Oyo State partisan politics with the advised to double their efforts and keep mobilizing for the future victory. Alhaji Kunmi charged PDP Youth to desisted and never involved in any act of thuggery with promised that every Youth will benefit by God’s grace.
He encouraged the Coordinator to always call for meeting and avoid anything that can caused disunity among the Youth.
The motion to suspend the meeting raised by Hon. Adedotun Ajayi, Olorunsogo Local Government Youth Leader and closing prayer was said by Hon. Sangodoyin Kolawole, Ogbomosho North Local Government Youth Leader by 1:00 am.
