Oyo SDGs Promises Akinyele Cattle Dealers’ Market Dividends of Democracy

National Association of Cattle Breeders and Dealers, Oyo State branch, Akinyele chapter on Monday inaugurated its newly elected officers who will pilot the affairs of the market.

The new executives, chaired by Alhaji Daud Alao Adebayo promised to uphold highest standards in the market while working closely with government at all levels and other regulatory agencies to ensure members comply with rules and regulations.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Sustainable Development Goals, Hon Kunle Yusuff MON, expressed government’s readiness to improve the image of the market, adding that the association under would enjoy some benefits from the present administration of Seyi Makinde.

The Governor’s aide noted that the market contributes largely to the economic growth of the state. He stressed that expansion of the state’s economy remains one of the cardinal programmes of this government as contained in the Road Map to the Accelerated Development agenda of His Excellency, Seyi Makinde.
Yusuff added that the market also helps to promotes three of the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 Agenda. His words:

“This Kara market is contributing in no small measure to the economic growth of Oyo State and this falls under the low poverty level which is being canvassed by SDGs. The markets also provides food for Oyo state residents (zero hunger) while the third point is that this cattle market generates employment for the teeming youths of our dear state.”

“The three points stated above are among the target of SDGs. We are also looking at how the SDGs can collaborate with the association to benefit all the traders at the market through the approval of Governor Seyi Makinde.
