In continuation of its efforts in the recent time to provide potable water to the residents of Oyo State, the Government has again sought collaboration with a Canadian based International Water Engineering Company, Source2Source.

While welcoming the President of the organization, Mr. Coby Albers and his entourage to his office during the week, the Chairman of Oyo State Water Corporation, Hon. Elias Adeojo said that the priority of the State government is to provide all the basic amenities for the residents of the State including potable water hence the calls for collaboration with different organizations across the globe and well meaning citizens of the State.

The Chairman said that water provision is a capital intensive project across the World and with expansive road network projects and other giant strides of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration which are also capital intensive, there is need to look outward for alternative funding for the water project because of the lean purse of the government.

Hon. Adeojo stressed that the State has all what it takes to provide potable water to the residents but for the fact that power and obsolete equipment are the clog in the wheel of the progress of the Corporation.

He added that the state government is desirous to collaborate with the organization (Source2Source) in order to aid in the delivery of one of the mandate of Governor Seyi Makinde in provision of potable water across the state.

While speaking further the Chairman said”Water is life and when there is provision of water, every other thing would fall into places”.

Earlier in his message on the mission of the organization in Oyo State, the President of the organization, Mr. Coby Albers expressed that the organization is in the State to introduce a Nature based solution.

He added that the project is capable of providing potable water to more than five million residents as well as boosting the economic status of the state.
